About the role#
Rocketship Public Schools is hiring a School Psychologist Intern to provide direct and indirect support to students, families, and staff. This role reports to the Manager of Psych Services and focuses on ensuring high-quality programming for students with disabilities. You will work across a small number of elementary schools to help maintain compliance and support our inclusion model, which aims to keep students in the general education classroom as much as possible.
What you'll do#
- Lead psycho-educational and formal behavior assessments and write compliant reports.
- Attend IEP meetings to present your assessment findings to the team.
- Assist in implementing assessment recommendations.
- Participate in the pre-referral process and consult with school teams on intervention supports.
- Work with parents to build knowledge of disability and inclusive support.
- Receive supervision from the Manager of Psychological Services and the school psych team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Masters and Credentialing Program for School Psychology (NASP preferred).
- A valid California driver’s license or state equivalent.
- Ability to travel between school sites.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred.
- Experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support is preferred.
- Experience working with elementary-age students is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in San Jose, California.
- The role is on-site and follows the site-based staff calendar, including holidays and school breaks.
