About the role#
This internship focuses on updating internal software systems through artificial intelligence. You will help transform the business ecosystem at RJ Lee Group by integrating AI capabilities into current workflows. The goal is to automate and streamline core business and scientific processes.
What you'll do#
- Identify and scope opportunities to integrate AI and machine learning into existing laboratory and business software.
- Develop and test AI-assisted tools, automation scripts, and workflow enhancements.
- Research and evaluate modern AI frameworks, APIs, and platforms to determine their practical use.
- Work with scientists, IT, and operations teams to implement process improvements.
- Document your findings, workflows, and project outcomes for internal use.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related degree program, with at least 2 years of coursework completed.
- A foundational understanding of machine learning concepts.
- Experience with AI tools and frameworks such as Python, TensorFlow, OpenAI APIs, or LangChain.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Intellectual curiosity about applying AI to solve real-world business problems.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize data accuracy.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- The internship term is for Fall 2026, running from September or October through the end of the year.
- This is a paid position.
