About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience in electrical systems design, analysis, and implementation. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers on projects across the transmission, distribution, power generation, industrial, and renewable sectors. We prefer students available for longer terms of 8 to 16 months. This is a paid, full-time role.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems.
- Support senior engineers by preparing project documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports.
- Contribute to system analysis and prepare relevant calculations.
- Participate in site visits and assist with project coordination among teams and stakeholders.
- Help perform testing and commissioning of electrical systems under senior supervision.
- Build technical skills by using various engineering software and tools.
- Work collaboratively with team members to contribute to project success.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a diploma or degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A strong academic background in electrical concepts and principles.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering design software.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work proactively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Eligibility for a co-op work placement.
