About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Rakuten AI User Experience team. This role focuses on building a flexible and scalable Agentic AI framework to serve as the core of the Rakuten ecosystem. You will work on full-stack development to create intuitive AI-driven user experiences. We welcome engineers from diverse backgrounds, including those looking to transition into the AI space, and provide mentorship to support your growth.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack features for web applications.
- Create responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
- Develop server-side logic and APIs using languages like Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby.
- Build and manage Agentic AI frameworks using tools like LangChain.
- Design database schemas and manage data storage for efficient retrieval.
- Integrate external APIs and third-party services into our systems.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs across the full stack.
- Optimize application code, databases, and server configurations for performance.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Proficiency in back-end development using languages like C#, Java, Python, Node.js, Ruby, or PHP.
- Familiarity with building RESTful APIs and working with web development frameworks.
- Experience with data schema design and database management systems.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code and follow best practices.
- Experience with testing practices including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across full-stack systems.
- Experience in AI-related projects is preferred.
