About the role#
Qube Research & Technologies is looking for FPGA engineering interns and graduates to join our team. You will build ultra-low-latency hardware for our live trading systems. By implementing custom logic directly on FPGA devices, you will help us process market data and execute orders with precise control over latency and system behavior. This role operates at the intersection of hardware and software, where small design choices have measurable impacts on performance.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and optimize FPGA-based platforms for live trading.
- Use SystemVerilog, C++, and Python to build, test, and refine high-performance systems.
- Implement FPGA features that improve how systems process market data and execute orders.
- Build verification tests to ensure new functionality works as expected.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to connect FPGA components with trading infrastructure.
- Debug and profile designs to investigate latency, resource utilization, and other constraints.
- Gain hands-on experience with FPGA hardware, development tools, and verification workflows.
- Contribute to research and development aimed at improving system performance and capabilities.
What you'll need#
- You are a penultimate or final-year student completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- You have an interest in technology demonstrated through software or hardware projects.
- Experience or coursework using an HDL such as SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL.
- Proficiency in C++ or Python.
- An understanding of digital logic design, computer architecture, and high-speed interfaces.
- You can reason through technical problems methodically, troubleshoot designs, and evaluate trade-offs between performance, resource utilization, and power efficiency.
- A curious, proactive, and self-motivated mindset.
- Familiarity with FPGA development toolchains like Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus is useful.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- This is a full-time, on-site role.
