About the role#
As an Embedded Engineering Intern, you will work as an equal contributor on teams developing software for complex wireless devices. You will apply your academic background to impact the software development life cycle of technologies that define modern connectivity. You will be paired with a mentor and supported by a manager throughout your internship to ensure you have the resources needed to succeed.
What you'll do#
- Develop, implement, and maintain software for complex wireless devices.
- Contribute directly to the software development life cycle of various technologies.
- Participate in professional development workshops, speaker sessions, and social events.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of November 2027 or later.
- Availability for 11 to 14 weeks during Summer 2027 (May to September).
- At least 1 year of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
- Knowledge of embedded programming in C, C++, or Assembly and operating system fundamentals.
- Experience with programming in resource-constrained environments, such as MIPS or memory-constrained systems.
- Ability to implement complex algorithms on embedded processors.
- Exposure to embedded microcontroller programming and device driver development.
- Familiarity with real-time embedded programming for general purpose and heterogeneous processors including GPUs and DSPs.
- Understanding of communication systems, communication theory, digital signal processing, and wireless protocols such as 5G NR, LTE, and 802.11.
