About the role#
Q2 is hiring a Data Science intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Cary, North Carolina. You will work within our financial services technology team to gain experience with the full lifecycle of data science projects, from initial problem definition to final product feedback.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the team to define project goals and refine requirements.
- Explore datasets, build prototypes, and assist with model development.
- Learn how data pipelines connect to user interfaces and broader system architectures.
- Support the team with testing, monitoring, and bug fixes.
- Collect and analyze feedback to improve product performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning algorithms and packages through coursework or projects.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- A sense of ownership and curiosity about the field.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures or the software development life cycle is a plus.
