This internship focuses on the Natural Resources investment group, specifically supporting private equity transactions and portfolio management within Latin America. You will work directly with the investment team to evaluate opportunities and contribute to the active management of existing assets.
What you'll do#
- Support the investment team in analyzing potential private equity transactions in the Latin American natural resources sector.
- Perform preliminary analysis of investment opportunities, including identifying key merits and risks, reviewing documentation, and preparing summary reports.
- Build detailed financial models, perform sensitivity analyses, and review valuation assumptions.
- Participate in the due diligence process and conduct industry research for new investment opportunities.
- Support the active management of the current portfolio by working on specific value-creation projects alongside management teams.
- Prepare investment recommendation memorandums for approval and assist with committee presentations.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of a university degree or a Master’s program in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Environmental Engineering, Agriculture, or Civil Engineering.
- Strong financial modeling skills and familiarity with financial statements.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish or Portuguese is required.
- Good communication skills in English and French, or a willingness to learn French.
- Progress toward a CFA designation is considered an asset.
- Must be able to work full-time in Canada for the duration of the internship without sponsorship.
