Intern, Alternative Investments (May – August 2027)

About the role#

As an Intern within the Alternative Investments team, you will support the Global Alpha group in executing transactions and developing investment strategies. You will work on a variety of initiatives, including direct investments, co-investment partnerships, and hedge fund analysis, contributing to the team's mandate of providing long-term alpha strategies.

What you'll do#

• Provide comprehensive support to the team to facilitate informed decision-making and transaction execution.
• Perform financial modeling and risk analysis across various parts of the capital structure.
• Conduct fundamental research on existing and new investment positions.
• Assist with special projects and perform detailed portfolio analytics.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master program, ideally in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business Administration.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and financial analysis.
• Strong command of MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with a high level of autonomy in a demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to research and documentation.
• Candidates must possess the legal right to work in Canada for the duration of the internship.
