About the role#
We are looking for a Clinical Systems Engineering Co-op to support hardware reliability investigations for our MRI-guided robotic ultrasound therapy system. You will work with R&D, Quality, and Clinical teams to analyze device data, identify failure trends, and perform hands-on lab testing. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can manage multiple tasks and contribute to root cause analysis.
What you'll do#
- Analyze system logs, feedback reports, sensor data, and service records to identify failure trends.
- Write Python or MATLAB scripts to process, visualize, and summarize data.
- Automate recurring analysis tasks.
- Assist with data collection at the MRI, including system setup and test preparation.
- Run lab tests to reproduce field failures and document findings.
- Examine returned units and record observations.
- Present your analysis and findings to engineering and clinical teams.
- Document all methods according to quality-system requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Software, or Computer Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic programming experience in Python or MATLAB.
- Ability to learn new technical tools quickly.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with data analysis libraries like pandas, NumPy, or Matplotlib.
- Familiarity with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems.
- Foundational knowledge of statistics.
- Exposure to MRI or ultrasound principles, root cause analysis, or medical device regulations is a plus.

- Location: Mississauga, Ontario.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (4 days in office).
- Compensation: $22.00 - $27.00 CAD per hour.
- Status: Full-time, paid co-op position.
