ProCogia is seeking a Statistical Programming Intern to join the team for the Summer 2026 term. This role focuses on modernizing analytical codebases by translating logic between SAS, R, and Python. You will work on internal projects to design and refine AI-assisted workflows, with the potential to contribute to client-facing work as you progress.
What you'll do#
- Translate and modernize analytical code between SAS, R, and Python.
- Read and interpret existing SAS programs to understand business logic and statistical methods.
- Design, test, and refine AI-assisted and agentic workflows for code translation, validation, and quality checking.
- Validate translated code by comparing outputs against original versions, checking edge cases, and documenting the process to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with senior consultants to document translation patterns and contribute to team knowledge-sharing.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university program (third year or above) in Applied Statistics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Fluency in R for data manipulation, including idiomatic tidyverse usage to wrangle, join, and reshape data.
- Practical experience with interactive data analysis tools such as Shiny and plotly.
- Proficiency in reproducible analysis practices, including Git for version control and Quarto or R Markdown.
- Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools and an interest in applying them to development workflows.
- Ability to work on-site in Vancouver.
