About the role#
As a Student Elect Neuro Tech, you will work in the Neurodiagnostic Lab at Miami Valley Hospital. This position involves performing neurodiagnostic procedures under the supervision of Electo-Neureo I and II staff. You will support both inpatient and outpatient care while gaining hands-on experience in a clinical environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine and long-term electroencephalograms (EEGs).
- Conduct all modalities of evoked potential procedures.
- Identify clinically significant events during testing.
- Manage procedures while maintaining safety for yourself and patients.
- Educate patients on disease processes and the purpose of their procedures.
- Communicate clearly with neurologists and other members of the care team.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and reprocess neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Follow all facility policies and exercise professional judgment during exams.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently enrolled in or pursuing an associate degree in Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technology and in good academic standing.
- Current CPR certification.
- Must be board-eligible for R.EEG.T and R.EP.T certifications within one year of hire.
- Ability to analyze and prioritize patient needs.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Capacity to complete all required yearly clinical and didactic competencies.
