About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Chicago. You will work on-site in a field-centric environment, gaining hands-on experience in construction project management. The program includes mentorship, technical training, and networking opportunities with professionals in the AEC industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with budgeting, estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid solicitations.
- Maintain and distribute project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Support project scheduling, status reporting, and document control.
- Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Help identify and resolve drawing conflicts and field issues.
- Monitor construction materials and equipment.
- Document project meetings and correspondence.
- Assist with punch list completion, project closeout, and verifying subcontractor work.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Superintendent.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong communication skills.
- A genuine interest in the AEC industry.
- The ability to work effectively in a field-centric environment.
