Systems Engineering Intern

About the role#

The Systems and Safety team is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to support the development of agentic tooling for systems-level analysis, requirements derivation, and test plan management. This role focuses on modernizing systems engineering processes through AI-driven automation and prototype development.

What you'll do#

• Support the development of Systems Engineering (SE) tools for internal and external applications.
• Build AI chatbot-like interfaces for general database interrogation.
• Develop an agentic coding prototype, such as a multi-agent system or specialized LLM tool, to automate high-impact SE process steps like requirements traceability, test case generation, or validation documentation.
• Document the proposed rebuilt SE process and create a technical specification for scaling the agentic prototype.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience or research background in Autonomous Driving, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), or Robotics.
• Proficiency in Python and C++; experience with Linux-based tools is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262 or SOTIF is preferred.
• Experience with vehicle-level control software for powertrain, battery, or chassis systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle communication networks and protocols is preferred.
