Research Engineer Intern

About the role#

The Mapping and Localization team is seeking a Research Engineer Intern to build and validate a closed-loop long-tail data engine. This project aims to improve generic-object detection by establishing a measurable long-tail evaluation benchmark from existing logs and developing a prototype data engine using simulation tools, automated data mining, and foundation models.

What you'll do#

• Establish a measurable long-tail evaluation benchmark using existing logs.
• Build and validate a closed-loop long-tail data engine.
• Develop a prototype engine by integrating simulation tools, automated data mining, and foundation models.

What you'll need#

• Pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
• Software design and development experience in Python and C++.
• Experience in 3D computer vision.
• Preferred: A publication record in relevant venues such as CVPR, ICLR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, AAAI, SIGGRAPH, ICRA, or IROS.
