Deep Learning Research Intern

About the role#

This internship focuses on the frontier of autonomous decision-making within the Perception team. You will work on Vision-Language-Action models to support the reasoning layer for on-board strategic decision making. The role involves designing and implementing advanced knowledge distillation and compression techniques to transition large models for deployment on on-board compute.

What you'll do#

• Develop Vision-Language-Action models to support on-board strategic decision making.
• Create and implement distillation techniques to optimize models for on-board compute hardware.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Thorough understanding of state-of-the-art vision-language and vision-language-action models, including diffusion, flow matching, and transformers.
• 1-2 years of experience implementing and training models using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
