Systems Engineering Intern

About the role#

The Systems and Safety team at Plus is responsible for the validation of the Safety Processor, a high-availability component within the autonomous driving system that monitors for faults and arbitrates between redundant sub-systems. This internship focuses on streamlining the analysis of recorded data files and documenting evidence for system performance.

What you'll do#

• Automate the generation of test reports to improve efficiency.
• Analyze Safety Processor functionalities, including redundant takeover detection, steering angle and angle rate limitations, speed limitations, and brake effort limitations.
• Integrate analyzed results directly into the Requirements Management System, providing necessary test evidence.
• Identify abnormal characteristics within CAN data, such as unauthorized step changes or data loss.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering.
• Previous experience or research in autonomous driving, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), or robotics.
• Proficiency in Python and C++; familiarity with Linux-based tools is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262 or SOTIF, experience with vehicle-level control software, and knowledge of vehicle communication networks and protocols.
