About the role#
The Coordinator, Advocacy and Student Programs mobilizes young people and communities to support access to sexual and reproductive health care. You will manage student advocacy programs across high schools and colleges in the region. This role focuses on building an activist base through community collaboration and volunteer engagement.
What you'll do#
- Manage Planned Parenthood Generation Action programs and serve as the liaison with PPFA for youth advocacy.
- Lead student volunteer activities, including phone banks and canvassing.
- Organize the annual Youth Lobby event and support outreach on college campuses.
- Manage short-term advocacy projects, such as voter engagement and legislative campaigns.
- Build and maintain partnerships with allied organizations and coalitions.
- Represent the organization at task forces and meetings to expand our network of youth activists.
- Assist in creating the annual Advocacy and Government Relations work plan.
- Collaborate with internal departments to organize special events.
- Develop and conduct presentations on legislation, policy, and advocacy for campus groups and coalition partners.
What you'll need#
- Experience mobilizing young people and communities.
- Background in managing student advocacy programs and volunteer activities.
- Experience with community outreach and engagement.
- Ability to represent the organization at meetings and coalitions.
- Experience developing and conducting presentations regarding policy and advocacy.
- Preferred majors include Political Science, Sociology, Communications, or Psychology.
