About the role#
PGBA is offering a 12-week summer internship for students to gain hands-on experience in a professional office environment. This program provides an opportunity to work with assigned teams and build foundational skills for your future career. Interns will participate in a variety of tasks, training, and networking events throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Maintain department information, including documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Use various systems and tools to conduct research and support ongoing projects.
- Follow established procedures while completing daily tasks.
- Participate in department training to build skills relevant to your field of study.
- Communicate with different areas of the company to understand business operations.
- Create and present reports on area statistics or knowledge acquired during the term.
- Assist staff members with daily workflows.
- Engage in volunteering, networking events, and discussions to learn about the healthcare insurance industry.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program.
- Completion of at least two years of academic study.
- Minimum of 12 semester hours earned in your field of study.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills.
- Analytical or critical thinking abilities.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to follow directions.
- US citizenship is required to obtain the necessary security clearance.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship (40 hours per week).
- The program runs from May 17 to August 6, 2027.
- Work is on-site, Monday through Friday, in either Myrtle Beach or Florence, South Carolina.
- We welcome students from all majors, including Communications, Public Health, Business Administration, Human Resources, Data Science, and Marketing.
