About the role#
The Software Developer Intern will join a Scrum team to build high-performing, resilient web-based ERP software for the homebuilding industry. This role focuses on integrating AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle. You will report to the Solutions Architect and work on building new product modules while refining the tools and processes that support AI-driven development.
What you'll do#
- Study and understand the application functionality, workflow, and design.
- Build a new product module end-to-end using AI-assisted development tools under architectural guidance.
- Assist in setting up, testing, and maintaining MCP servers and connectors that power AI-assisted development, including configuration, documentation, and usage governance.
- Expand automated test coverage, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using Playwright, and integrate these into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Author and refine reusable AI context, such as rules files, prompts, and agentic workflows for development and review tasks.
- Evaluate the quality and reliability of AI-assisted output against real coding tasks and iterate to improve results.
- Document processes and provide recommendations for scaling AI-assisted development and automation across the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Ability to work from the Markham, Ontario office.
- Hands-on experience in full-stack development, including HTML5, TypeScript, JavaScript.NET, and SQL.
- Experience building multi-tier, distributed web solutions with an emphasis on Responsive Design.
- Understanding of software requirements and the software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of development best practices in a multi-developer team using Git, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented Design and Test-Driven Development.
- Assets include familiarity with AI coding assistants, prompt engineering, Playwright, and Azure DevOps.
