The Development Prospect Research Intern supports the National Development team by identifying philanthropic leaders, corporations, and foundations with a connection to our mission. Reporting to the Director of Development Prospect Management, you will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development operations, data management, and prospect research while working within the Revenue Operations team.
What you'll do#
- Conduct deep-dive research on individual, corporate, and foundation prospects using internal databases and open-source intelligence.
- Analyze key indicators and public giving histories to identify potential major gift interest.
- Identify warm leads by mapping connections between our networks and potential partners.
- Assist in drafting concise, actionable research briefings for high-level donor meetings.
- Maintain and audit prospect data within our CRM and digital filing systems to ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor news, funder sites, and social media for relevant trends, business sales, or philanthropic awards.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking institution, with a preference for majors in Business Administration, Political Science, Communications, or Sociology.
- Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize data.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Calendars.
- A mission-driven mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, NY (On-site).
- Term: Rolling, 6-month duration.
- Compensation: $20/hour.
- Schedule: Minimum 20 hours per week.
