About the role#
The IT & Security Intern assists with the daily operations of the Tribe's information technology and cybersecurity functions. You will gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise systems while working with staff on hardware deployments, system maintenance, and security initiatives. This role involves performing routine administrative tasks and supporting the implementation of secure technology practices across Tribal departments.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic technical support for common hardware, software, and technology issues.
- Assist with computer deployments, equipment installations, and office moves.
- Manage user account setup, access requests, password resets, and multi-factor authentication enrollment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of hardware and software assets.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of computers and peripherals.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, including user awareness activities and security tool deployments.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all Tribal information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of networking concepts, computer hardware, and software.
- Ability to communicate professionally with staff.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, or Active Directory is preferred.
- Experience with computer troubleshooting or maintenance is a plus.
- A valid driver's license and insurance.

- This position is located in Miami, Oklahoma.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- Compensation is $14.42 per hour.
- You must be able to lift or carry 30 pounds.
- Employment is subject to a background check and drug screening.
