About the role#
Pattern Energy is looking for a Business Development Intern to join the team in San Francisco for the summer of 2027. You will support the identification, evaluation, and advancement of early-stage renewable energy projects. This role involves working across the development lifecycle, including greenfield development, project budgeting, and early-stage economic assessments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with early-stage project assessments by gathering assumptions and organizing project inputs.
- Conduct research on markets, competitors, and specific projects to inform strategy.
- Help create project pitch decks and investment materials for leadership.
- Prepare internal updates, briefing documents, and decision-support analyses.
- Coordinate with teams across Finance, Transmission, Engineering, Environmental, External Affairs, and Legal.
- Participate in team meetings to contribute ideas for real-world development challenges.
- Complete a summer project and present your findings and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy, Environmental Studies, or Public Policy.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information clearly.
- Comfort working with financial information and basic quantitative analysis.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in renewable energy, electricity markets, and infrastructure development.
