About the role#
Passero Associates is hiring a paid Aviation Civil Engineer Co-op or Intern for our Rochester office. You will work with our aviation team on planning, design, and infrastructure projects at commercial and general aviation airports. This position provides hands-on experience by collaborating with engineers, planners, architects, and surveyors on projects that improve airport operations and safety.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and design of airport infrastructure including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, and landside facilities.
- Support the creation of engineering reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
- Perform site inspections, field investigations, and data collection at airport facilities.
- Assist with FAA grant-funded projects and learn about the airport improvement program.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software to develop plans and exhibits.
- Coordinate with project teams to support deliverables through design and construction phases.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Interest in aviation engineering, transportation infrastructure, and airport design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation to visit active construction sites.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in civil engineering or aviation is a plus.
