About the role#
This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position for a Civil Engineering student. You will work under close supervision to complete routine tasks that require knowledge of fundamental engineering, mathematical, and construction concepts. You will support engineers, the CADD supervisor, and project teams by preparing graphic materials, design sketches, study materials, and permit applications.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction phase services as directed by project engineers.
- Check engineering calculations.
- Complete fundamental project tasks like quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
- Help prepare marketing proposals.
- Collect field data and test samples.
- Maintain the technical library.
- Handle routine filing and document delivery.
- Use computers, computer-aided design software, and other relevant tools.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current student status in Civil Engineering or a related discipline at an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design software and general computer tools.
