About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly position for a Civil Engineering student. You will work under close supervision to perform routine tasks that require knowledge of fundamental engineering, mathematical, and construction concepts. You will provide support to engineers, the CADD supervisor, and project teams by preparing graphic materials, design sketches, study materials, and permit applications.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction phase services as directed by the project engineer.
- Check engineering calculations.
- Complete fundamental project tasks including quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
- Help prepare marketing proposals.
- Collect field data and test samples.
- Maintain the technical library and handle routine document filing and delivery.
- Use computers, computer aided design software, and other relevant tools.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current student status in Civil Engineering or a related discipline at an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency with computer aided design software and standard office hardware.
