About the role#
Owens Corning is hiring a Production Co-op Student for an 8-12 month term at our Edmonton plant. This role provides hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and leadership. You will work directly with our production team to monitor equipment, support quality targets, and improve overall efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily operations on the production floor.
- Help the team meet quality and efficiency goals.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment issues under supervision.
- Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to ensure equipment reliability.
- Support Autonomous Maintenance (AM) pillar activities, including creating standards for cleaning and lubrication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to learn and implement new production techniques.
- Act as a bridge between management and shift staff.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related engineering degree program.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of production processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Reliable transportation, as the facility is not accessible by public transit.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without visa sponsorship.
