About the role#
As a summer 2027 student intern with the Construction Materials Testing team, you will gain hands-on experience in a geotechnical lab. You will learn how testing protocols and processes influence project outcomes while working with soils, asphalt, aggregates, and concrete. This role provides insight into the quality verification of materials used in construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing and reporting on common construction materials in a geotechnical lab.
- Assist project managers in creating geotechnical and construction materials testing reports.
- Conduct field work, including construction observation and inspections.
- Work in varied weather and terrain conditions as required by project needs.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in construction management, construction administration, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving history.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Availability to work overtime hours during the summer based on project workload.
