About the role#
Oil States International is seeking a Legal Intern to join its legal department in Houston. This role offers exposure to in-house legal practice, specifically focusing on how artificial intelligence is integrated into corporate legal workflows, contract management, and legal operations.
What you'll do#
- Review commercial agreements using AI-assisted workflows.
- Compare contract drafts to identify revisions, inconsistencies, and risk areas.
- Assist with drafting, revising, and organizing company policies and procedures.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research on topics including artificial intelligence, privacy, and data governance.
- Support document management and legal operations projects.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the legal department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year completed (2L or 3L status).
- Strong written communication, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to exercise sound judgment regarding confidential information.
- Proficiency with Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn and use technology platforms independently.
- Preferred experience includes familiarity with generative AI tools, interest in legal technology, and coursework in corporate law, contract drafting, privacy, or cybersecurity.
