About the role#
Oil States International is hiring a Legal Intern to support our in-house legal department in Houston. This role focuses on how artificial intelligence integrates into corporate legal workflows. You will gain experience in legal operations, contract management, and corporate governance.
What you'll do#
- Review commercial agreements using AI-assisted workflows.
- Compare contract drafts to identify risks, inconsistencies, and necessary revisions.
- Draft, revise, and organize company policies and procedures.
- Conduct research on legal and regulatory topics including privacy, data governance, and artificial intelligence.
- Assist with document management and legal operations projects.
- Support special projects as assigned by the legal team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year completed (2L or 3L status).
- Strong written communication, analytical, and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Comfort learning and using technology platforms independently.
- A practical mindset with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Preferred experience includes coursework in corporate law, contract drafting, privacy, or intellectual property, as well as experience with generative AI tools.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Houston, Texas.
