OhioRise Intern

About the role#

OhioGuidestone is seeking a motivated student intern to support the OhioRise program. This role offers hands-on experience in community behavioral health, focusing on care coordination, service planning, and family outreach. Interns will work directly with care teams to support children and families with complex needs while gaining exposure to the High Fidelity Wraparound model.

What you'll do#

• Shadow and support Care Coordinators in delivering services to children and families.
• Assist with service planning, referrals, and follow-up activities with community providers.
• Support outreach and engagement efforts with clients, families, and community partners.
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and High Fidelity Wraparound processes.
• Observe and assist with documentation practices in accordance with agency and compliance standards.
• Help identify and connect families to appropriate community resources and supports.
• Participate in trainings related to trauma-informed care, cultural competency, and behavioral health best practices.
• Observe and assist with discharge planning and transition activities.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
• Genuine interest in behavioral health, care coordination, and working with children and families.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries in a clinical setting.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and receive feedback.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with documentation in electronic systems.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally as needed.
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and required clearances.
