About the role#
As a Design Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across various nuclear design engineering projects. You will help resolve emergent issues, perform engineering calculations, and support maintenance and procurement activities. Depending on your background, you may work with the Mechanical Design team or the Electrical and I&C Design team. This role allows you to apply your classroom knowledge to practical challenges in the nuclear industry.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with design engineers and stakeholders to develop high-quality designs.
- Review technical specifications, codes, standards, and test or implementation plans.
- Participate in plant walk-downs to assess equipment and gather design inputs.
- Prepare and present technical information to internal and external audiences.
- Support daily project activities and coordinate with stakeholders to meet quality expectations.
- Contribute to innovation projects by researching new technologies and their potential applications.
- Incorporate lessons learned into processes to strengthen future design work.

Location & details#
- Location: Hybrid, with occasional travel to client sites in Bruce County.
- Term: Winter 2027 start.
- Duration: 8, 12, or 16 months.
- Compensation: CA$26 to CA$31 per hour, based on academic level.
- Employment: Full-time.
