Student Athlete Tutor

About the role#

The Student Athlete Tutor provides academic support to students in designated subject areas to promote achievement and retention. You will help students understand course concepts, reinforce classroom instruction, and foster effective learning strategies while maintaining a professional and supportive environment. This role requires adherence to institutional policies regarding academic integrity and confidentiality.

What you'll do#

• Provide subject-specific tutoring to reinforce classroom instruction and improve student understanding.
• Help students develop effective study strategies, time management, and organizational skills.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and encourage self-assessment.
• Assist with writing assignments, proper citation, and use of academic resources.
• Connect students with appropriate academic support services when needed.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current student at NWCC.
• Strong communication skills.
• A friendly, patient, and interested attitude.
• Ability to support a facilitative, conversational, and inquiry-based approach to consultations.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and be productive with minimal supervision.

• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
