About the role#
As a Respiratory Care Extern, you work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist with the assessment, planning, and implementation of patient care services. You will provide clinical and support services under the direct supervision of a licensed respiratory care professional. This role focuses on gaining practical experience while supporting the delivery of respiratory care in a hospital setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform airway clearance, suctioning, and nebulizer therapies.
- Set up and adjust supplemental oxygen therapies and incentive spirometry.
- Handle remote monitoring duties for patients.
- Assist with the management of the care environment, including stocking, cleaning, and setting up equipment.
- Participate in patient discharge planning and the broader healthcare educational process.
- Help the department meet organizational and clinical goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a respiratory therapy program.
- Successful completion of at least one clinical course in an accredited program.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

- Location: Duluth, Georgia.
- Schedule: 7p-7a shifts.
- Weekend requirements: Rotating basis.
- Modality: On-site, full-time, paid position.
