About the role#
Nomura is seeking Summer Associates for the 2027 Investment Banking program. This ten-week program includes an intensive training week followed by a nine-week placement within the Greentech team. You will focus on mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory within sustainable technology and infrastructure. You will work alongside investment bankers on live transactions and business development initiatives. The program provides the same exposure as a first-year Associate, with opportunities to work as a full team member. You will also be paired with junior and senior mentors for guidance throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Work with clients and execution teams on live transactions including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, capital raisings, financings, and derivative transactions.
- Generate and present ideas at client meetings as part of a deal team.
- Support transactions and client presentations through financial, structural, and business risk analysis.
- Participate in efforts to pitch and win new mandates from clients while using proprietary content.
- Manage Analysts to execute deliverables and support the training of junior professionals.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an MBA, MS, MES, MA, MEM, or other graduate degree from an accredited university.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Outstanding academic record.
- Interest in business opportunities created by sustainable infrastructure, technology, and industrial disruption.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong analytic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and an eagerness to learn.
- Interest in both quantitative and qualitative work.
- Ability to develop an understanding of financial products.

- Compensation: The base salary is $175,000 per year on an annualized basis, paid pro-rata. This is a full-time, exempt position. Sponsorship is not provided.
