About the role#
NexGold Mining Corp. is hiring an Environmental Technician Co-op Student for the Winter 2027 term. This position is based on-site at the Goliath Gold Complex, where you will support the environment team with field programs and regulatory compliance. You will work in an outdoor setting, gaining experience in environmental management while contributing to the daily operations of the site.
What you'll do#
- Conduct field sampling programs, including groundwater and surface water quality sampling, along with stream flow measurements.
- Ensure all environmental protocols are followed and data is entered into programs for timely reporting.
- Analyze, interpret, and manage environmental data to maintain quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external environmental documentation.
- Collaborate with the site team to promote a culture of safety and environmental performance.
- Advocate for company performance to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Canadian college or university co-op program, with plans to receive course credit for this term.
- Current studies in a technical degree or diploma related to environmental science or engineering.
- Competence with the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel for field data entry.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds routinely.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- High level of initiative and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
- A valid G2 driver’s license or higher in Ontario.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada as a citizen, permanent resident, or protected person.
- Previous experience in field-based, remote, or mining environments is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Wabigoon, Ontario.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm.
- Compensation: $24.72 per hour.
- Additional Support: Company-provided housing is available for those outside commuting distance, and travel arrangements for one roundtrip are provided.
