About the role#
The Summer Associate Internship in Security Automation is a 12-week program running from May 2027 through August 2027. You will join the Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) team within the Information Security Division. This role focuses on improving operational agility by streamlining processes and building automated solutions to support the security of our members and employees.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers and product owners to identify automation opportunities.
- Perform use-case analysis and workflow mapping.
- Develop security automations within the automation platform to reduce manual effort.
- Analyze data to inform and refine automation strategies.
- Document technical processes, workflows, and project outcomes.
- Participate in the day-to-day strategy, analysis, and operations of the SOAR team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Experience using coding languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and the creation of automation playbooks.
- Experience with research, analysis, and data-driven outcomes.
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of automation and SOAR platforms is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Vienna, Virginia (On-site).
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
