    About the role#

    The Advanced Guardrails and Automation team within the Product Security Group is seeking a motivated intern for the Summer 2027 program. You will support initiatives focused on developing and improving automated cloud and AI detection and prevention guardrails. This role involves working closely with team members on program coordination, data analysis, and process improvement efforts to reduce security risk across the application portfolio.

    What you'll do#

    • Support cloud security and governance initiatives through research, analysis, and documentation.
    • Assist in the development, testing, and validation of security automation workflows.
    • Monitor and review security findings, compliance reports, and guardrail effectiveness.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation, process diagrams, and operational runbooks.
    • Develop dashboards and reports to support security metrics and operational visibility.
    • Conduct research on emerging cloud, automation, and AI security technologies.
    • Participate in security assessments and configuration reviews under supervision.
    • Assist with testing and troubleshooting automation solutions in development environments.
    • Contribute ideas for process optimization and operational efficiency improvements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support security engineering initiatives.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity at an accredited college or university.
    • Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
    • Scripting fundamentals in Python, PowerShell, or Bash, including the ability to work with APIs and parse JSON.
    • Intro-level understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP, including resource types, IAM concepts, and logging.
    • Familiarity with security vulnerabilities, least privilege, encryption, and secure coding principles.
    • Exposure to LLMs, embeddings, model inference, and AI tools for analysis.
    • Ability to analyze logs, cloud events, and security findings.
    • Basic Git and GitHub usage for commits, branches, and pull requests.
    • Exposure to CSPM, CIEM, or container scanning tools.
    • Understanding of Docker images, registries, and vulnerabilities.
    • Ability to craft prompts for AI-assisted analysis or summarization.
    • Ability to break down issues and propose simple solutions.
    • Ability to explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Vienna, Virginia.
    • Term: 12-week internship from May 2027 to August 2027.
    • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Employment Type: Full-time.
