About the role#
As a Summer Associate in the Adversarial Security Practice, you will join the team responsible for penetration testing, red team operations, and remediation validation. You will work alongside experienced security professionals to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen the organization's security posture. This 12-week program runs from May 2027 through August 2027 and includes an independent capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Support penetration testing across application, infrastructure, cloud, wireless, and API environments.
- Research emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and industry trends to improve testing capabilities.
- Participate in remediation validation to ensure security findings are addressed.
- Develop and maintain penetration testing procedures, playbooks, and governance documentation.
- Create reports and presentations to communicate findings to technical and business teams.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and technology departments to understand system architectures and security controls.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to security testing methodologies and offensive security tools.
- Contribute to strategic cybersecurity initiatives and security automation efforts.
- Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Complete an independent capstone project focused on research, process improvement, or capability development.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Demonstrated interest in ethical hacking, penetration testing, or security engineering through activities like Capture the Flag events, Hack The Box, personal labs, or security clubs.
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, web applications, and security principles.
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Location & details#
- Location: Pensacola, Florida.
- Modality: This role offers both on-site and remote work options.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
- Status: This is a paid, full-time internship.
