About the role#
The Digital Payments Product Strategy and Portfolio team manages money movement experiences for our members. As a Summer Associate, you will support strategic analysis, business case development, and portfolio planning. You will work alongside strategists to shape future payment capabilities, including ACH, Wires, Zelle, and emerging money movement solutions. This is a 12-week internship running from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Research emerging payment trends and assess the competitive landscape, including disruptive technologies.
- Analyze member and operational impacts to develop recommendations for strategic initiatives.
- Create materials and presentations to support decision-making for management and senior executives.
- Develop high-level roadmaps and detailed action plans.
- Evaluate and improve team processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
- Participate in the day-to-day strategy, analysis, and operations of the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, or Operations Management with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Experience with research, analysis, and data manipulation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 productivity and AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot.
- Knowledge of or experience using data and analytics tools such as PowerBI, Databricks, SQL, SPSS Modeler, R, or Tableau.
- Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in group settings.
- Basic knowledge of financial services or payments is a plus.

- This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
- Locations: Vienna, Virginia or Pensacola, Florida.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CT.
