The Digital Process Automation (DPA) Test Engineering & Automation Intern will gain hands-on experience with enterprise application testing, automation frameworks, and modern AI-enabled quality practices. This year-round role supports the DPA testing team by assisting with test automation, execution, documentation, and analysis to reduce manual testing efforts and improve repeatability. You will work under the direction of team members and management to learn enterprise technology practices while supporting multiple DPA projects.
What you'll do#
- Develop, maintain, and execute Selenium-based automated test scripts for DPA Pega applications.
- Assist with Python scripting to support automation frameworks, utilities, test data preparation, and repeatable testing activities.
- Translate business requirements and user stories into clear test scenarios, test cases, and validation steps.
- Document test results, identify defects, and support defect tracking and retesting activities.
- Contribute to AI-assisted testing initiatives, including AI-supported test case generation and analysis of test coverage opportunities.
- Support the integration of automated tests into CI/CD or DevOps workflows where applicable.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and scrum teams to complete assigned testing tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency in Java and/or Python, with a willingness to learn scripting concepts in an enterprise environment.
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test case creation, execution, validation, and defect documentation.
- Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery and SDLC concepts.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to provide transcripts upon application.
Location & details#
- Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (minimum 20-25 hours per week, based on school schedule).
- Term: Rolling.
