Intern - Year Round (Desktop Support)

About the role#

The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team is seeking a year-round intern to provide desktop support. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial sector by assisting with technical challenges and hardware support. You will work in a collaborative environment, interacting with multiple departments while applying your academic knowledge to real-world IT scenarios.

What you'll do#

• Assist team members in navigating technical challenges, including both back-end and hardware issues.
• Plan, install, and support IT equipment, such as workstations, mobile devices, printers, telephony systems, and audio/visual equipment.
• Provide exceptional customer service while working within established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Leverage technical knowledge and skills from your degree program to complete day-to-day tasks and special projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned while receiving guidance from management and senior-level staff.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in college-level courses or a degree-seeking program (Computer Science or a related field is preferred).
• A desire to learn and combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience.
• Effective planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to exercise initiative, achieve objectives, and work independently as part of a team.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
• Experience with PCs and software such as Microsoft Office.
• Ability to demonstrate maturity, objectivity, and sound judgment in problem-solving.

Location & details#

• Location: 5550 Heritage Oaks Dr, Pensacola, FL 32526.
• Modality: This is a fully on-site position.
• Schedule: Year-round, full or part-time, with flexibility based on your school schedule. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (minimum 25 hours per week).
