About the role#
The Credit Risk Insights & Analysis team develops analytical solutions and strategies to manage credit risk for lending portfolios. As a Business Intelligence Analyst Summer Associate, you will join this team to work on projects involving enhanced analytics, dashboarding, and automation. You will take direction and work both collaboratively and independently to provide analytical insights using member, financial, and organizational data.
What you'll do#
- Use Python, R, Scala, and Spark to analyze large data sets.
- Manage and analyze big data to build impactful data models.
- Evaluate and improve model design and performance.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
- Transform data into useful formats for decision-making.
- Create visualizations and dashboards to monitor trends.
- Conduct model validations and assess performance.
- Create reports to assist with business planning and strategy.
- Lead initiatives to streamline or automate processes.
- Develop and refine strategies for underwriting, pricing, and portfolio monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Coding experience with Python, R, Scala, or Spark.
- Experience with SQL.
- Ability to manipulate raw data within visualization tools to create effective dashboards.
- Proficiency in storytelling with data.
- Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with GitHub for documentation and code collaboration.
- Familiarity with Databricks.
- Ability to understand complex business problems and define analytical solutions.
Location & details#
- Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA.
- Term: 12 weeks, May 2027 to August 2027.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Modality: On-site.
