About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the insurance industry. You will apply classroom knowledge to real business tasks while working alongside our team in Richfield, Ohio. The program includes professional development training, networking opportunities, and exposure to various departments.
What you'll do#
- Handle entry-level accounting tasks related to prepaid assets, fixed assets, and other liabilities.
- Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
- Support daily banking and treasury management, including tracking cash balances and recording transfer activity.
- Assist with investment accounting and reporting by posting transactions and income.
- Manage reinsurance reconciliations, billings, and payments.
- Help with SEC reporting tasks, such as XBRL tagging and proofreading quarterly filings.
- Assist with statutory loss and investment reporting for our insurance companies.
- Provide reports and analysis to management as requested.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university.
- A major in Accounting.
- An anticipated graduation date between Fall/Winter 2027 and Spring 2028.
