    About the role#

    The National Immigrant Justice Center offers a legal fellowship for rising third-year law students and recent law graduates. This full-time position begins in the fall of 2027 and lasts up to two years. You will work with our team to build a project proposal for submission through programs like Equal Justice Works, the Skadden Foundation, or Soros Fellowships. We provide mentorship and support as you develop your project and contribute to our legal work.

    What you'll do#

    • Build a meaningful public interest project.
    • Develop a project proposal focused on immigrant rights issues.
    • Contribute to innovative advocacy and litigation strategies.
    • Provide direct legal services to immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers.
    • Conduct public education.
    • Strengthen your skills in legal research, writing, advocacy, and case strategy.
    • Collaborate with our staff on approaches to immigrant justice.

    What you'll need#

    • Status as a rising third-year law student or recent law graduate.
    • A commitment to immigrant justice.

    • Location: Chicago, Illinois.
    • Work modality: On-site.
