About the role#
As a member of the NAFSA Marketing team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the execution of social media content and video production. You will work closely with the Social Media and Content Specialist to elevate the digital presence of the organization and engage a global community of followers. This internship runs from September through mid-December 2026.
What you'll do#
- Develop social-first content, including graphics, captions, and short-form video.
- Assist in building and maintaining content calendars to support campaigns, events, and organizational priorities.
- Support the creation and organization of visual assets and member stories.
- Assist with day-to-day social media management, including scheduling, posting, and monitoring content across platforms.
- Stay up to date on social trends and platform features to keep content fresh and relevant.
- Support the promotion of NAFSA programs, events, and initiatives through coordinated social efforts.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative campaign ideation.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in social media, content creation, and video production.
- Excellent writing skills for short-form, engaging social copy.
- Basic graphic design skills using tools like Canva or Photoshop.
- Video editing skills using in-app tools, CapCut, or Premiere Pro.
- Ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and manage multiple creative tasks.
- Pursuing studies in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or Business Administration.
- Authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

- Location: Washington, DC.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September through mid-December).
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour for up to 20 hours per week.
