About the role#
The IT Help Desk Technician Intern provides frontline technical support to Musqueam staff. You will assist with hardware, software, network, and communication technology issues. This role offers hands-on experience in troubleshooting, user support, and IT system administration. The position is a temporary, full-time role lasting up to 8 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support for computer hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist with software installation, hardware setup, and device configuration.
- Respond to and document support requests through the IT ticketing system.
- Escalate complex technical issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate service desk records and help with IT projects like user account administration.
- Assist with audio and video equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Handle other duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a program in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and computer hardware.
- Familiarity with networking, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Knowledge of Musqueam and First Nations history, culture, and Aboriginal title and rights.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move monitors, desktops, and printers.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check.
