Application Engineering Co-op

About the role#

The Application Engineering Co-op position is a full-time, paid opportunity based in East Gwillimbury, Ontario. This role involves working within the automotive manufacturing sector to support software application lifecycles, from initial design and architecture to deployment and ongoing maintenance.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document software requirements.
• Design application architecture with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
• Write clean, efficient code using relevant programming languages and frameworks.
• Perform unit, integration, and system testing to identify and resolve bugs.
• Deploy applications to production environments and provide ongoing maintenance.
• Monitor application performance to identify and implement improvements.
• Create clear, concise technical documentation.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary co-op program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Mathematics.
• Relevant experience in software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols, including OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, 802.11, and QoS.
• Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytic tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Location: East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $17.60 - $25.48 per hour.
• Term: Rolling.
