About the role#
Mountain View Hospital is hiring a Pharmacy Intern to support our pharmacy team. You will assist pharmacists in providing medication services to patients, nurses, and physicians. This role involves working with patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, while ensuring a safe environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with medication services and dose medications under supervision.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and restock automated dispensing and anesthesia machines.
- Process medication records, compute charges, and enter data into the computer system.
- Prepare and interpret medication usage reports, including narcotic usage.
- Receive and store incoming deliveries under proper conditions.
- Consult with pharmacists regarding dosage variations across different age groups.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Keep the pharmacy department clean and orderly.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow regulatory requirements.
- Commitment to completing annual education, in-services, and department reviews.
- Reliability in reporting to work on time and completing tasks as scheduled.
