About the role#
As a Systems Integration Engineering Intern, you will work within our Supply Chain organization at the Elgin Experience Center. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, integrate, and stage complex infrastructure ecosystems that support first responders and private enterprises. This role involves hands-on work in a professional environment where you will gain exposure to leadership and receive mentorship from experienced staff engineers.
What you'll do#
- Execute the system staging process to build, image, deploy, and maintain infrastructure footprints.
- Provision and support VMware vSphere and Red Hat KVM virtualization environments.
- Construct and manage unified Microsoft Windows Server architectures, Active Directory, and Linux operating systems.
- Build, connect, and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment.
- Deploy enterprise Fortinet firewall solutions.
- Integrate analog, digital, and SIP-based audio processing technologies.
- Analyze system behaviors to isolate performance anomalies.
- Complete a dedicated summer continuous-improvement project from ideation to execution.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Networking, or a related discipline.
- Expected graduation date between 12/2028 and 6/2030.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely (sponsorship is not available).
- Familiarity with generative AI tools for coding, data analysis, or process automation.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical concepts.
- Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and approach challenges logically.
