The CAD/RMS Technical Co-op Program is a 16-week immersive experience designed for students to work alongside System Administrators in a public safety environment. You will gain hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of emergency response data, from initial 911 call handling to long-term storage and analysis within Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management Systems (RMS). This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience with CAD console hardware, peripheral configurations, and multi-monitor UI environments.
- Assist in maintaining Training, Test, and Production environments to support 99.999% system uptime.
- Use Microsoft SQL Server to perform complex data joins and validation.
- Translate raw emergency response data into insights regarding resource allocation and response times.
- Learn and apply Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security policy requirements.
- Manage user permissions and troubleshoot security access within the CAD/RMS ecosystem.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and networking basics.
- Ability to pass a stringent fingerprint background check required by government customers.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely (sponsorship is not available).

- This is an on-site role based in the Washington, D.C., Virginia, or Maryland area.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.
